The Internet has created a brand new way for us to get rid of our junk. We used to have to rely on hit and miss yard sells, but not anymore! Now we have the wonderful websites like eBay and craigslist that help one man’s trash become another man’s treasure. These websites are great in that they help buyers and sellers hook up easier, and it helps sellers get a better idea of what they should be selling their items for by looking at what other people are selling for. I use these websites all of the time because I really hate clutter, but I don’t want to just give my stuff away. There is some value in my junk, I just have to find the right person.

I am always looking for fun things to do, however, the other night I kind of ran out of ideas, so I wanted to try something new. My friend suggested bowling. I have been bowling maybe twice in my life, and so I really had no idea if I would like it or not. We went on a Friday night to go “Midnight Bowling.” They turn off all the normal lights and turn on black lights and play music videos throughout the place. It was so fun! Bowling is such a social sport. You can talk to people the entire time, yet you are still thoroughly entertained and you have an activity to occupy and break up any awkward time. Ever since that night, bowling has become a bi-weekly event with my friends.

I enjoy reading about the stock market and following individual stocks. I don’t have all the money in the world though, so I usually don’t purchase too many. What I like to do is create fantasy portfolios. Tons of people play fantasy football, and I got the idea to play fantasy finance from that. I usually do it with a few friends. We give ourselves a certain amount of money, and then we all pick and buy our stocks on the same day. It is fun because it makes you follow the market a lot more closely, and it is good practice for when I actually do own a lot of stocks. It is easy to set up, just use a tool like Yahoo! Finance and create a portfolio.
