How much is your life worth? How much is someone willing to pay to have you grace them with your presence? Life insurance companies seem to know, since they essentially put a price tag on your life. I wonder how they calculate the number. I am sure you can pay more when you are alive to have a larger policy, but how did they get the baseline number in the first place? I don’t think there is a mathematical calculation, but I am going to propose one. Your life is all about your family and friends, and so people who have more friends should be worth more. The mathematical calculation I hope they use with my life insurance is to take my Facebook friends and times it by $1000. Obviously I am just joking, but it would be odd to work for a life insurance company and determine how much a life is worth.
