Ten Awesome Websites
CNN.com came out with a list of ten new websites that are hilarious. The websites are usually blogs that post funny things about life. One site they mentioned was called We Have Lasers, at it was making fun of old school photos and their futuristic backgrounds. Another website was called Garfield minus Garfield. It was all of the Garfield comics with the cat edited out. It is funny for sure. My favorite is called my parents joined Facebook, and it has various posts about family experiences with Facebook. They are fun websites that are great for killing ten minutes. I started a new bookmark folder on my browser just for websites like those mentioned.

Over The Top Designs
There comes a point when a design is just a little over the top. It is important to try and come up with new ideas, like the Cold Activated beer can, but some ideas are just ridiculous. One the came across to me the other day was a water bottle with finger grooves. I like where they are going with this idea (making things easier to use) but how many times have you dropped your drink and thought, “If only this had finger grooves!” Maybe someone in charge at this bottling plant has really slippery fingers or something, but I think the general public can hold on to their water bottles just fine. I like the innovation and trying to think outside of the box, but make sure you ask whether or not your change really makes a difference.

IT Certifications
If you have no idea what to do in life, I would look into IT. The IT job market is constantly growing, and IT people get paid so much! The key is simply to be certified in all of these IT languages and operating systems. There are hundreds of schools that will prepare you to take the certification tests, and the certifications only take about three months to complete. Each time you complete a certification you also take a pay raise too. I had an IT professor is college who would lay out a plan to reach a minimum of $100k a year for any student willing to work hard. He worked with a few friends of mine, and they each are doing very well, even in these tough economic times.
