Ads and Website Design

Websites have different purposes. Some websites, like blogs are designed to convey info. Other websites, like amazon or ebay are designed to sell items. If you are designing a website that is going to make money by conveying info, and therefore using ad revenue, then you obviously need to leave space for ads. However, if you are making a website that’s purpose is to sell something, skip the ads as much as possible. They only make your site look cluttery, and if anything they make people leave your site when they see an interesting ad. If you can avoid using ads and still make money, then do it because it will help you retain visitors for a longer time, and it will help you keep your site looking nicer.
