Now we have the wonderful websites like eBay and craigslist that help one man’s trash become another man’s treasure. These websites are great in that they help buyers and sellers hook up easier, and it helps sellers get a better idea of what they should be selling their items for by looking at what other people are selling for. I use these websites all of the time because I really hate clutter, but I don’t want to just give my stuff away. There is some value in my junk, I just have to find the right person.

It is easy for me to tell myself to start working harder, but I tend to cancel out all of my self-motivation attempts by blowing myself off. I figure if there is one person that will understand why I can’t do something right now, or why I didn’t do as well on a test it is I. However, this is so unhealthy! Every book I have ever read suggests that you need to keep promises that you make with yourself, and I struggle with that. This is where having a personal development mentor or some sort of coach comes in handy. Sometimes you need that outside influence to get you going. We can’t all have an inner fire that doesn’t need to be stoked by someone else, but we can still be successful by getting help from a coach or mentor.
